Actor and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Chairman R. Madhavan has expressed support for students protesting over alleged examination irregularities, including the reported NEET paper leak.
His statement comes as protests continue across the country, with students demanding greater transparency and accountability in the examination system. The movement has been led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), with thousands of students and supporters calling for reforms.
Madhavan Says Students’ Concerns Are Genuine
Madhavan said he understands the frustration and disappointment faced by students and their families.
According to him, India’s education system must be built on fairness, trust and equal opportunity. He added that incidents such as examination paper leaks weaken public confidence and unfairly affect students who spend years preparing for competitive exams.
The actor stressed that education shapes the future of young people. Therefore, he said protecting the credibility of the examination process should remain a top priority.
Calls for Strict Action Against Those Responsible
Madhavan urged the authorities to take quick and firm action against everyone involved in the alleged examination irregularities.
He said those found guilty should face strict punishment so that similar incidents do not happen again.
At the same time, he expressed confidence that the government would strengthen the examination system, improve existing safeguards and introduce reforms to restore public trust.
Madhavan Encourages Students Not to Give Up
While addressing students, Madhavan asked them not to lose hope because of the shortcomings in the system.
He said their talent, hard work and determination are stronger than temporary setbacks. Therefore, he encouraged them to stay focused on their goals and continue working with confidence.
The actor also praised students who have been peacefully demanding meaningful reforms. However, he urged them to remain focused and not allow vested interests to divert the movement from its original purpose.

Madhavan’s comments came just hours after a photograph from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) went viral on social media.
The image showed the door outside the FTII chairman’s office with a “Gayab” meme and a “NEET for Sale” poster. The posters questioned Madhavan’s silence over the ongoing student protests and sparked widespread discussion online.
