Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has officially begun shooting for Ragini 3, the latest installment in the popular Ragini horror franchise. The actress shared the exciting update with fans through her Instagram Stories, posting a behind-the-scenes picture holding the film’s clapperboard as production kicked off in London.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Ragini 3 is being described as a “date night horror” entertainer that will blend horror, romance, and comedy while taking the franchise in an exciting new direction. The film is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms, and is scheduled to hit theatres in 2027.
The Ragini franchise has remained one of Bollywood’s most popular horror series over the years. It began with Ragini MMS in 2011, starring Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala, followed by Ragini MMS 2 in 2014 featuring Sunny Leone. The franchise later expanded into the digital space with Ragini MMS: Returns, starring Karishma Sharma, Siddharth Gupta, and Riya Sen, further strengthening its fan base.
While the makers have kept the storyline and supporting cast of Ragini 3 under wraps, production is currently underway in London. More details about the film’s plot, characters, and additional cast members are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Tamannaah has been actively expanding her filmography with diverse projects. She was recently seen in a special appearance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo and will next star alongside Sidharth Malhotra in the fantasy adventure The Vvaan – Force of the Forrest, which is slated for a theatrical release in September this year. With Ragini 3, the actress is set to return to the horror genre in what promises to be one of her most intriguing roles yet.
