The excitement around Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is reaching new heights as the makers reportedly prepare for a grand trailer launch in India before taking the ambitious project to the global stage. The much-awaited first trailer of the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-starrer is expected to be unveiled on July 18, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, giving audiences their first major look at one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.

The Delhi event is expected to mark the official beginning of the film’s promotional campaign. After the India launch, the team will reportedly head to the United States for a special showcase at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, highlighting the makers’ plans to position Ramayana as a global cinematic experience.
According to the official San Diego Comic-Con schedule, Ramayana will be showcased on July 23, 2026, at 3:15 PM PDT (July 24, 3:15 AM IST) at Ballroom 20. The special panel will feature producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari, Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, and Yash, who portrays Ravana.

The Comic-Con presentation is expected to offer audiences an exclusive first look at the film, which has been described as a grand retelling of one of the world’s oldest epics. The story will focus on the journey of Rama, a prince defined by duty and sacrifice, and Ravana, a powerful ruler driven by ambition and pride.
With this showcase, Ramayana becomes only the second Indian film after Kalki 2898 AD to receive a major presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. The move reflects the makers’ ambition to take Indian mythology and cinema to a wider international audience, placing the film alongside major global entertainment properties.
Reportedly mounted on a massive budget of around ₹4,000 crore, Ramayana features a star-studded cast. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi essays Sita, and Yash takes on the role of Ravana. The film also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, along with Rakul Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, Sheeba Chaddha, and Adinath Kothare in important roles.
The film is planned as a two-part saga, with Ramayana Part 1 scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release and the second instalment expected to arrive during Diwali 2027. With its massive scale, mythological narrative, and international promotional strategy, the film has already become one of the most anticipated releases in Indian cinema.
