Actress and content creator Sahiba Bali has responded to recent dating rumours involving actor Arjun Kapoor, urging the media to shift its focus from speculation about her personal life to issues she believes deserve greater public attention. The rumours emerged after the two were seen together at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London during the India vs England third ODI on July 19.
Taking to Instagram, Sahiba shared videos from a solidarity rally held outside India House in London in support of activist Sonam Wangchuk and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)‘s “Chalo Sansad” protest in Delhi. Alongside the visuals, she posted a pointed message aimed at media outlets, writing, “Dear media, stop speculating my dating life/friendships in London—it’s not national news. But if you want to show something, show this instead.”
Her post quickly gained attention online, with many social media users appreciating her decision to redirect the conversation toward ongoing public issues. The actress chose to highlight the demonstrations supporting education reforms and the demands raised by protesters instead of addressing the dating rumours directly.
The “Chalo Sansad” protest witnessed thousands of demonstrators gathering at Jantar Mantar before marching towards Parliament during the opening day of the Monsoon Session. The protest was organized over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, demands for education reforms, and calls for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Heavy security deployment, reports of tear gas shelling, lathi-charge, and temporary closure of several Delhi Metro stations marked the day as tensions escalated between protesters and police.
According to CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, the protest will continue until the Union Education Minister steps down. Protesters have maintained that accountability is necessary over alleged examination irregularities and student-related concerns linked to the controversy.
Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike since June 28 in support of the movement, remains at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital after his health deteriorated. In a handwritten note shared from the hospital, Wangchuk stated that he would end his fast only if the government accepted responsibility for the alleged examination paper leaks.
