A video of the exchange has gone viral across social media platforms, drawing both criticism and support from netizens.
During the interaction, reporters asked Sonu Nigam to share his opinion on the student-led protests demanding accountability over the alleged examination irregularities. The singer chose not to respond to the questions, indicating that he was not there to discuss the issue. As journalists continued to press him for a reaction, Sonu appeared visibly uncomfortable and ended the interaction by saying, “Abhi ho gaya, bas.” The exact location where the interaction took place has not been confirmed.
The video quickly spread online, prompting a wave of reactions from social media users. Some criticized the singer for remaining silent on an issue affecting millions of students across the country. One user wrote that public figures should speak up on matters of national importance, while another questioned the responsibility of celebrities during crucial social issues.

Meanwhile, several personalities from the Indian film industry have publicly expressed support for students protesting against the alleged paper leak. Actors including Salman Khan, Anupam Kher, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Aditi Rao Hydari have shared messages backing the students’ demands through social media.
Earlier this week, actors Prakash Raj and Shabana Azmi, along with rapper Hanumankind, participated in the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march in New Delhi. The demonstration witnessed police action, including reports of a lathi charge and the use of tear gas, after which more celebrities voiced solidarity with the protesters.
In Mumbai, actors Ayesha Khan, Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, and Shalini Pandey also joined demonstrations in support of students.
The protests, which began in New Delhi over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination process, have now spread to several cities across India. Students continue to demand greater transparency, accountability, and action against those responsible, along with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
