The box office momentum for Suriya’s latest cinematic venture shows no signs of stopping on a global scale. The highly discussed mythological mass entertainer Karuppu crossed a major financial milestone on its twelfth day in theaters. Even though the project experienced a natural weekday drop after an incredibly successful second weekend, the overall collections remain highly impressive.

On its second Tuesday, the film managed to secure ₹4.45 crore net across domestic box office windows. According to prominent box office tracking portal Sacnilk, this Day 12 figure reflects a 24.6% decline compared to the ₹5.90 crore net hauled in on Monday. The film maintained a solid theater footprint, playing across 4,470 active shows nationwide on Tuesday.

Worldwide Box Office Collections Reach New Heights

Despite the routine weekday dip in the domestic market, Karuppu successfully breached the elite ₹250 crore threshold globally. By combining the latest domestic net earnings with an additional ₹1 crore generated from international markets on Tuesday, the movie’s cumulative worldwide total climbed to a spectacular ₹253.26 crore.

Region / Collection TypeCumulative Box Office Figures
Worldwide Total Collection₹253.26 crore
International Gross Collection₹69.00 crore
Domestic India Gross Collection₹184.26 crore
Domestic India Net Collection₹159.20 crore

The film’s robust international performance has provided a vital cushion, allowing it to comfortably outpace other major regional releases this season.

Tamil Version Dominates Regional Occupancy Trends

The original Tamil version continues to serve as the main economic engine for the project. On Day 12, the Tamil format alone brought in ₹3.65 crore net from 3,073 scheduled shows while maintaining a steady 25% average audience occupancy. Conversely, the dubbed Telugu version added a modest ₹80 lakh net from 1,397 shows, recording an overall occupancy of 18%.

A Gripping Story of Divine Justice and Legal Battles

The immense popularity of Karuppu stems from its unique premise, seamlessly blending mass elements with traditional mythology. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film features Suriya in the role of Saravanan, an ordinary lawyer who ultimately serves as the mortal human avatar of the powerful deity Karuppusamy.

The core narrative focuses heavily on a vulnerable father and daughter duo who suffer a devastating robbery. Soon after, they find themselves trapped within a highly corrupt and unyielding legal system. The emotional courtroom battle combined with supernatural elements has struck a deep chord with audiences, cementing the film’s status as a certified box office blockbuster.
