The promotional journey for the upcoming historical drama Main Vaapas Aaunga hit a deeply emotional high at the iconic Attari Border Post. Following legendary composer A.R. Rahman’s historic live concert at the venue, a new video has taken social media by storm featuring young actor-singer Vedang Raina performing live for the Border Security Force (BSF) jawans, with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali cheering him on from the sidelines.
Dressed in a clean white shirt and beige trousers, Vedang Raina captivated the audience at the Joint Check Post (JCP) Stadium by singing “Maskara” a track from the film’s highly anticipated music album. The viral clip highlights a heartwarming moment where director Imtiaz Ali can be seen proudly smiling and capturing Vedang’s soulful performance on his personal mobile phone, showcasing the tight-knit bond of the film’s creative team.
The special event served as a grand tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the Indian armed forces. The makers of the film formally dedicated the entire musical album, composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil, to the nation’s bravehearts. Speaking on the occasion, Imtiaz Ali shared his gratitude, calling the border performance a magical ode to solidarity and love—themes that mirror the very heart of the movie.
Set against the harrowing and monumental backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India, Main Vaapas Aaunga is a tale of love, survival, and longing drawn directly from real-life accounts of the subcontinent’s migration. Boasting a powerhouse ensemble cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina, the film is produced by Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment, and Window Seat Films. The cinematic epic is scheduled to hit theaters globally on June 12, 2026.
