When  Meditation became my lifeline to clarity and peace: by Neerja Mahajan

Discover the power of meditation to nourish your soul and transform your day.

Article by Neerja Mahajan: I still remember that day vividly. The deadlines in my advertising agency loomed large, my phone buzzed incessantly, and my mind felt like a traffic jam during rush hour. That evening, as I slumped onto my couch, utterly drained, a thought struck me—what if I could hit pause? What if I could find a way to escape the chaos, even for a few minutes?

That’s when I listened to my sister and decided to try meditation.

Like most people, I was skeptical. Sitting still, closing my eyes, and doing “nothing” felt counterproductive. But my sister had advised to sit for meditation for at least 5 minutes whatever I might feel. So, I gave it a shot.

The First 5 Minutes

The first time I meditated, it wasn’t perfect. My thoughts raced like a wild horse. Client jobs, emails, and random regrets popped up as if my brain were a disorganized filing cabinet. But then, something magical happened—I focused on my breath. Just the simple act of breathing in and out felt like a moment of clarity in a sea of noise.

Five minutes later, I opened my eyes. The world hadn’t changed, but something inside me had. I felt… lighter.

Meditation is the food for the Soul

The whole day we think about feeding our bodies—but what about our soul? The soul, too, needs nourishment, and meditation is its food. Just like charging your phone powers it up, meditation recharges your inner self.

Research backs this up. Studies show that meditation rewires the brain, reducing stress, improving focus, and even increasing happiness. It’s not just a practice; it’s a science—a proven way to bring clarity and calmness to our chaotic lives.

How Meditation changed me

After a week of meditating for just five minutes a day, I noticed subtle changes. My reactions to stressful situations softened. The small irritations of life—like traffic or waiting in long lines—stopped bothering me as much.

More importantly, I felt connected to something deeper within me – my soul.

The Power of Starting Small

You don’t need to meditate for hours. Start small. Sit in a quiet corner, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. That’s it.

Even five minutes can make a difference. It’s like planting a seed. Over time, this small practice grows into a powerful habit that can transform your life.
