Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadauria climbed an electric pole in Sitapur to remove posters targeting Akhilesh Yadav

June 22, 2026: Political tensions flared in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur after Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadauria personally removed posters allegedly targeting SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. The posters, which reportedly criticized the party and accused it of promoting “Yadav-centric politics,” had appeared at several locations in the district. After being informed by party workers, Bhadauria arrived at the spot and was seen climbing an electric pole to tear down the banners himself.

Videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread attention. The footage showed the Dhaurahra MP removing the posters while supporters gathered below. In some areas, SP workers reportedly used elevated platforms and machinery to take down similar banners. The controversy comes amid reports that such posters have surfaced in multiple districts, including Lucknow.

Reacting to the issue, Bhadauria condemned the campaign and described it as a deliberate attempt to damage the image of the Samajwadi Party. He demanded strict action against those responsible and said a formal complaint would be filed with the police. Authorities have launched an investigation and are examining evidence to identify the individuals behind the posters, further intensifying the political battle between the ruling and opposition camps in Uttar Pradesh.
