PM Narendra Modi outlines BJP’s plan for accountability, development, and strict action against illegal activities in West Bengal.
April 11, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will release a White Paper on alleged corruption and law-and-order issues under the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Addressing a rally in Purba Bardhaman, he said the party would also set up an inquiry commission led by a retired Supreme Court judge to investigate incidents of political violence. Modi assured that BJP aims to replace what he described as a “fear-driven governance” with transparency and accountability.
Sharpening his attack, Modi accused the TMC government of harming farmers and encouraging illegal activities, including control over sand mining operations. He alleged that syndicate culture had weakened governance in the state and promised a transparent tender system to eliminate corruption. Referring to incidents like the Katwa blast, he said strict action would be taken against those involved in criminal networks, adding that BJP’s governance model would focus on restoring law and order and boosting development in West Bengal.
Highlighting key election promises, Modi said the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) would be accelerated for eligible applicants if BJP comes to power. He also vowed to expel illegal infiltrators and take action against those facilitating them through fake documentation. Additionally, he promised immediate rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the state, reiterating BJP’s slogan of inclusive development and pledging to take Bengal toward greater growth and stability.
