May 5, 2026: In a continued crackdown on extortion-related crime, authorities in Canada have deported an Indian national suspected of involvement in such activities. According to the Surrey Police Service, 20-year-old Prabhjot Singh was identified earlier this year in connection with ongoing extortion cases and was subsequently arrested.

Following his arrest, information was shared with the Canada Border Services Agency, which conducted an immigration investigation leading to his removal from the country. Police also released his photograph, seeking public assistance in identifying his associates and further uncovering his activities while in Canada.

Officials said the move is part of a broader nationwide effort to tackle extortion networks. The CBSA has opened hundreds of investigations and is working closely with law enforcement agencies, including regional task forces, to address cross-border criminal activity. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to curbing the extortion crisis through coordinated enforcement and immigration action.
