Central Bureau of Investigation arrested a coaching institute director from Latur for allegedly leaking the NEET-UG 2026 exam
May 18, 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday arrested Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, director of Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC) in Latur, in connection with the ongoing NEET-UG paper leak investigation. According to officials, Motegaonkar allegedly received the exam paper on April 23, nearly 10 days before the medical entrance examination was conducted on May 3.
Investigators suspect that Motegaonkar was part of an organised network involved in leaking the paper and circulating questions and answers to multiple individuals. His mobile phone has been sent for forensic examination, and the agency is probing his links with other accused arrested in the case. The arrest marks the 10th arrest made so far in the nationwide probe.
The case gained attention after similarities were reportedly found between RCC’s mock test questions and the actual NEET-UG 2026 paper. Earlier, the CBI had arrested alleged kingpin PV Kulkarni from Latur along with other accused from Pune and different states. More than 22 lakh students appeared for the exam, which now stands cancelled, with a retest scheduled for June 21.
