The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is on the verge of releasing the Class 12 Board Examination Results 2026. With lakhs of students across the Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams waiting in anticipation, the board has ensured multiple digital avenues to handle the high traffic. While the official websites cbse.gov.in and cbseresults.nic.in remain the primary sources, students can also access their results via DigiLocker, UMANG, and the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS).
The Class 12 examinations, held between February and April 2026, saw a massive turnout across India and international centers. Following a rigorous evaluation and moderation process, the board is now in the final stages of result preparation. To check the scores, students will need their roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth. The online marksheets will display subject-wise marks, grades, and the final qualifying status.
Beyond the Website: How to Use DigiLocker and UMANG
To ease the burden on official servers, CBSE has integrated result access with the DigiLocker app and website. Students can pre-activate their accounts using the six-digit security pin provided by their respective schools. Once the results are live, digital versions of the marksheet and migration certificates will be automatically pushed to the students’ “Issued Documents” section. These digital copies are legally valid under the IT Act.
Similarly, the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app offers a seamless mobile experience for checking results. For those in areas with limited internet connectivity, the IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) provides an offline alternative where students can call designated numbers and hear their scores over the phone.
No Merit List: Prioritizing Mental Wellbeing
In a continuing effort to foster a healthy academic environment, CBSE has confirmed that no toppers’ list or merit rankings will be published this year. By avoiding the announcement of “toppers,” the board aims to reduce psychological pressure and discourage unhealthy competition among students.
Respective schools will distribute the original hard-copy marksheets and certificates a few weeks after the online declaration. Until then, the digital scorecard serves as a provisional document for undergraduate admissions and competitive exam registrations.
