Former household worker arrested; court grants police custody as probe expands into motive and possible links

April 23, 2026: A shocking crime has emerged from Kailash Hills, where a 22-year-old woman, daughter of an Indian Revenue Service officer, was found dead at her residence. The victim, an IIT graduate preparing for civil services, was discovered by her parents on Wednesday morning. Police have arrested 23-year-old Rahul Meena, a former household employee, from a hotel in Dwarka within hours of the incident.

According to investigators, the accused allegedly entered the house and later confessed during questioning that he had gone there to ask for money. Police sources indicate that he showed little remorse, and preliminary findings suggest the crime may involve multiple motives, including robbery and a possible grudge after being dismissed from employment two months ago.

A Delhi court has granted four days of police custody to the accused to help reconstruct the sequence of events and examine digital and forensic evidence. During the course of the investigation, officials also came across a separate allegation in Alwar, where a woman accused the same individual of sexual assault shortly before the Delhi incident. Authorities are continuing their probe to establish all links and determine the full extent of the case.
