Probe by Nashik Police SIT deepens as search continues for absconding accused in Tata Consultancy Services case

April 18, 2026: Police are intensifying their search for a woman accused in the ongoing case linked to Tata Consultancy Services, with teams tracking leads in Mumbra. According to officials, the accused had reportedly told her husband she was visiting a relative, but when police reached the location, it was locked and both her phone and the relative’s phone were switched off. Investigators believe she may have changed her location to evade arrest.

The case, which surfaced last week, prompted Nashik Police to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) after eight women employees alleged mental and sexual harassment by senior colleagues, along with inaction from the HR department. Complaints also include allegations of attempted forced religious conversion. So far, eight employees—seven men and one female operations manager—have been arrested, while the absconding woman remains untraced.

The SIT is currently probing nine cases involving workplace harassment, molestation, exploitation, and related offences. Three police teams have been deployed to locate the missing accused. Meanwhile, TCS has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy and suspended those under investigation. Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, termed the allegations “gravely concerning” and said an internal inquiry is underway to establish accountability.
