May 18, 2026: The first glimpse of India’s proposed bullet train has been unveiled at the Ministry of Railways building in New Delhi. An image of the modern high-speed train has been placed at Gate Number 4 of the ministry premises, offering the public an early look at the ambitious project.

The bullet train is planned for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed rail corridor, one of India’s biggest infrastructure and transportation projects. The corridor aims to significantly reduce travel time between the two major cities while introducing world-class rail technology in the country.

The high-speed rail project is being developed with technical and financial assistance from Japan and is expected to transform long-distance travel in western India. The project has remained a key focus area for the Ministry of Railways as India pushes to modernise its transport infrastructure.
