Nepal Police arrested five Indian teenagers from Bihar after rescuing a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped

June 18, 2026: Five Indian teenagers have been arrested in Nepal for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old boy from Chitwan district and demanding ransom from his family. According to Nepal Police, the incident took place on Monday when the boy was reportedly abducted and taken to Kathmandu, around 150 kilometres away from his hometown.

Investigators said the victim was held hostage in a hotel in Kathmandu while the accused allegedly contacted his family and demanded money for his release. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid at the hotel on Tuesday and successfully rescued the boy. Officials confirmed that the teenager was unharmed during the operation.

Police identified all five suspects as 18-year-old youths from Bettiah in Bihar, India. Following their arrest, the accused were handed over to the Chitwan District Police for further investigation and legal proceedings. Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping and ransom demand.
