Court raises concerns over violation of virtual hearing rules, next hearing set for July 6
April 23, 2026: The Delhi High Court has directed the removal of social media posts related to recent court proceedings involving senior AAP leaders. The order was passed by Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma during a hearing on a petition filed by Arvind Kejriwal. The court also issued notices to Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and others over the circulation of videos and related content from court hearings.
The bench expressed concern that clips from an April 13 hearing were being shared online, potentially violating rules governing virtual proceedings. It noted that such recordings and public dissemination without permission go against established protocols designed to maintain the integrity and decorum of judicial processes. Facebook confirmed that it removed the flagged videos after the issue was raised.
The court emphasized that judicial proceedings, especially those conducted via video conferencing, are subject to strict guidelines. Unauthorized sharing, it said, could undermine the dignity of the court and fairness of proceedings. The matter is now listed for further hearing on July 6, as the court continues to examine compliance with its directives.
