Popular educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, received interim relief from a Bihar court on Saturday after it upheld a “no coercive action” order during the hearing of his anticipatory bail plea in connection with the coaching institute firing case.
The court directed the police not to take any harsh action against Khan Sir until the next hearing, offering temporary protection as investigations into the incident continue.
FIR Registered After June 2 Firing And Vandalism Incident
The development comes weeks after the Patna Police registered an FIR against Khan Sir and two others in connection with a firing and vandalism incident that took place outside the Khan Global Studies coaching institute on June 2.
According to police, a group of individuals allegedly vandalised the coaching centre and pelted stones at the premises during the incident, creating panic in the area.
The FIR was lodged following an investigation into the events surrounding the attack and the alleged firing that occurred afterwards.
Two Institute Guards Arrested
Patna Police said two security guards associated with the coaching institute have been arrested based on video evidence recovered during the investigation.
In a statement issued by the Office of the City Superintendent of Police (Central), officials said the incident took place at approximately 10:10 PM on June 2.
Following the vandalism and stone-pelting, police registered Case No. 410/26 and launched a detailed probe.
“During the course of the investigation, a video was recovered showing two individuals allegedly involved in aerial firing after the act of vandalism,” the police statement said.
After verifying the footage, police identified and detained the two guards. Investigators also recovered weapons and examined the sequence of events that unfolded after the attack on the coaching centre.
Khan Sir Named In FIR Under Abetment And Arms Act Provisions
Based on the findings of the investigation, police named Khan Sir and two others in the FIR under sections related to abetment as well as provisions of the Arms Act.
Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the exact nature of the allegations against the educator.
The case remains under investigation.
Police Appeal To Students Amid Coaching Rivalry Concerns
In the wake of the incident, Patna Police also appealed to students not to get influenced by rivalry or competition among coaching institutions.
Officials stressed that law enforcement agencies would take strict action against anyone found involved in criminal activities.
“All students are requested not to be misled by anyone amidst coaching centre competitions. No compromise will be made regarding crime control and the maintenance of law and order,” the police statement said.
Next Hearing Awaited
With the court extending interim protection to Khan Sir, attention will now shift to the next hearing of his anticipatory bail plea.
The case has attracted significant public attention given Khan Sir’s popularity among competitive examination aspirants across the country and the large student following associated with his educational platform.
Further legal proceedings are expected to determine the course of action in the matter.
