BRS leader K T Rama Rao said the popularity of the satirical “Cockroach Janata Party” on social media reflects growing frustration

June 3, 2026: K. T. Rama Rao on Wednesday said the massive online traction of the satirical “Cockroach Janata Party” indicates widespread disappointment and anger among the youth towards governments in the country. Speaking at a Meet the Press event in Hyderabad on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day, he claimed that the popularity of the satirical platform reflects public frustration with governance and unmet expectations. He also remarked that any political party capable of channelising youth anger could gain significant electoral support.

The BRS leader announced that he plans to undertake a padayatra next year in preparation for the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections. He also defended the limited public appearances of BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, describing him as the party’s “trump card” who knows when to make political interventions. Rama Rao further targeted Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging a tacit understanding between the Congress and BJP and calling the current administration a “BJP-Congress jodi government.”

Rama Rao also weighed in on issues including parliamentary delimitation, Centre-state relations, and comments made by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He argued that southern states should not lose representation in Parliament due to successful family planning measures and accused the Centre of favouring certain regions economically. The BRS leader further alleged that the Telangana government had failed to fulfil key election promises and claimed public dissatisfaction with its performance was growing.
