The family of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal has demanded the strictest punishment for his fiancée
June 23, 2026: A shocking murder case in Maharashtra’s Pune district has left a family devastated after 26-year-old Ketan Vishal Agarwal was allegedly killed by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her friend, Chetan Chaudhary, just days before their wedding. Ketan’s father said the couple got engaged in February and had planned a trip to Bali in June, but the journey was cancelled after Ketan reportedly lost his passport at the airport. Recalling the tragedy, he alleged that Siya and Chetan lured Ketan to Lohagad Fort, attacked him and pushed him into a gorge. The grieving father demanded a fast-track trial and the harshest possible punishment for the accused.
Ketan’s mother accused Siya of betraying the family’s trust, saying they had welcomed her into their lives and never suspected her intentions. She said the family often spent time with Siya, including shopping trips and dinners, and was stunned by the allegations against her. Calling the incident heartbreaking, she demanded the death penalty for those responsible for her son’s death.
Police said the case was initially reported as an accidental fall after Siya informed authorities that Ketan had slipped while visiting Lohagad Fort near Lonavala. However, an investigation involving witness statements, technical evidence and intelligence inputs allegedly revealed a murder conspiracy. Pune Rural SP Sandeep Singh Gill said Siya and Chetan, who had known each other for around a year, allegedly planned the crime and pushed Ketan from the fort. A murder case has been registered at Lonavala Rural Police Station, and both accused have been arrested and are being further questioned.
