DMK chief holds second high-level meeting with senior leaders as counting day nears

May 1, 2026: M K Stalin on Friday held a key meeting with senior leaders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam at the party headquarters in Chennai to assess the party’s performance in the recently concluded Assembly elections. The discussions come after several exit polls predicted a return to power for the DMK following voting held on April 23.

Senior ministers and party leaders, including K N Nehru, EV Velu, K R Periyakaruppan, A Raja, RS Bharathi and TKS Elangovan, attended the meeting. According to party sources, Stalin reviewed constituency-wise feedback and discussed the party’s chances across regions ahead of the vote counting scheduled for May 4.

During the meeting, Stalin also instructed party leaders to guide counting agents properly and ensure strict monitoring of the counting process. This is the second such review meeting this week, reflecting the party’s focus on preparedness as it awaits the final results of the 234-seat Assembly elections.
