Police have launched an investigation into the incident at the NSCI Dome in Worli, examining event permissions, alcohol licences
June 7, 2026: A tragic incident unfolded during the “Klangkuenstler All Night Long” music event at Mumbai’s NSCI Dome in Worli, where a man died and a woman was hospitalised after allegedly consuming excessive amounts of alcohol. According to police, the two attendees were dancing at the event when they reportedly consumed large quantities of alcohol, including cocktails, before experiencing health complications. Both were rushed to hospital, where the man was declared dead, while the woman remains under treatment and is said to be recovering.
Following the incident, police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and launched an investigation. Authorities are questioning event organisers and reviewing permissions granted for the concert, alcohol service licences, crowd management arrangements and ticket sales records. Reports suggest local police had previously raised concerns regarding security and crowd control before the event received approval. The concert attracted a large audience, with tickets reportedly priced at ₹4,000.
Preliminary findings indicate that dehydration may have contributed to the man’s death, although officials said the exact cause will be confirmed only after medical examination and further investigation. The case has renewed concerns about safety measures at large-scale music events and comes months after two MBA students allegedly died from a drug overdose following a concert in Mumbai’s Goregaon area.
