Police said a property dispute allegedly led to the fatal stabbing of social media influencer
July 3, 2026: A 45-year-old social media influencer and beautician, Nisha Chauhan, was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband following a dispute over a property in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district on Friday, police said. The incident took place in Harra town under the Sarurpur police station area. Police and forensic teams reached the spot after receiving information about the crime and began an investigation.
According to Circle Officer Ashutosh Kumar, preliminary findings indicate that an argument broke out between Nisha Chauhan and her husband, Pradeep, over the ownership of a plot of land. During the altercation, Pradeep allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times, causing her death. The couple’s 17-year-old child sustained minor injuries while trying to intervene and stop the attack.
Police said the accused later allegedly attempted suicide by stabbing himself and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The victim’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, while investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
