The NEET paper leak controversy intensified after a key accused alleged that influential people were being shielded

May 14, 2026: The controversy surrounding the NEET Examination paper leak has intensified after a key accused in Jaipur allegedly claimed that “big names are being protected” during the investigation. The accused also questioned the role of the Central Bureau of Investigation, alleging that only lower-level individuals were being arrested while influential figures linked to the wider network were escaping scrutiny. The remarks have added a fresh political dimension to the already sensitive case.

Reacting to the allegations, Madan Dilawar said photographs with political leaders should not automatically be viewed as evidence of wrongdoing, arguing that “anyone can be photographed with anyone.” He also targeted former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, accusing the previous government of failing to take strong action against exam-related corruption. The statements have further escalated political tensions between rival parties over repeated examination paper leak incidents.

Meanwhile, the probe has expanded beyond Rajasthan, with major developments emerging from Bihar. Police conducted raids at VIMS Hospital in Pawapuri, Nalanda district, while investigating alleged links to the NEET paper leak network. Authorities have so far arrested seven individuals, including an MBBS student believed to be a key suspect. Investigators also recovered cash, mobile phones, admit cards and suspicious documents, raising concerns about a larger interstate racket operating across Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar and other regions.
