Fresh investigation details suggest the NEET UG 2026 paper leak network operated across several states
May 12, 2026: The NEET UG 2026 paper leak controversy has taken a significant turn after fresh investigation findings suggested that the network behind the alleged leak was far more widespread than initially believed. According to sources, the first copy of the leaked question paper was allegedly prepared in Nashik, Maharashtra, before being circulated to several states through an organised interstate network. Investigators claim the paper later reached Haryana, where multiple copies were allegedly produced and distributed further.
The investigation has now expanded beyond Rajasthan and Kerala, with links reportedly emerging in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and other states. The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG), which is leading the probe, has already arrested several accused, including alleged mastermind Manish, who is currently being questioned. Earlier investigations had also revealed possible connections in Kerala and Uttarakhand, increasing concerns about the scale of the operation.
As the case widened, authorities recommended transferring the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a more comprehensive nationwide probe. Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) defended its decision to cancel the examination, stating that the move was necessary to ensure transparency and fairness for students. The agency assured aspirants that a fresh examination date would be announced soon and urged candidates not to panic while investigations continue.
