June 18, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Wednesday after concluding his engagements at the G7 Summit in Evian-Les-Bains. He received a warm welcome from members of the Indian diaspora and expressed pride in their efforts to strengthen ties between India and France. Modi described the India-France partnership as essential for global progress and cooperation.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend VivaTech 2026 alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and interact with the Indian community. India will have the largest national pavilion at the technology and innovation event, reflecting the growing collaboration between Indian and European innovation ecosystems. The visit marks the final leg of Modi’s two-nation tour covering France and Slovakia.
Before arriving in Paris, Modi participated in the G7 Summit, where he advocated stronger engagement with the Global South and called for partnerships based on equality and mutual trust. On the sidelines of the summit, he held bilateral meetings with several world leaders, including Donald Trump, Keir Starmer, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ursula von der Leyen. India and France continue to deepen cooperation across defence, technology, space, climate action and strategic affairs.
