PM Modi begins his day with prayers at Kashi Vishwanath, followed by a major roadshow

April 29, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his day on Wednesday with a visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, where he offered prayers and performed darshan. After completing the rituals, he was seen carrying a Trishul and Damru, symbolising deep religious significance. The Prime Minister later described his prayers on social media, seeking blessings for peace, prosperity, and well-being of citizens across the country.

Following the temple visit, Modi led a 14-kilometre roadshow across Varanasi that attracted large crowds. The procession began at Banaras Locomotive Works and passed through key city locations including Lahartara, Chaukaghat, and Lahurabir before concluding at Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Local leaders and residents gathered in large numbers, reflecting strong public engagement during the Prime Minister’s visit.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister is scheduled to travel to Hardoi to inaugurate the ₹36,230 crore Ganga Expressway. The 594-km six-lane corridor aims to connect 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh and significantly reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj. The project is expected to improve connectivity, boost logistics, and support regional economic growth, marking another major infrastructure push in the state.
