Chief Minister Pramod Sawant launched the ‘Majhe Driver’ app to help Goa’s motorcycle taxi riders expand their customer base

July 6, 2026: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday launched the Majhe Driver app for the state’s motorcycle taxi riders in collaboration with the Goa Motorcycle Taxi-Riders Association. The locally developed platform allows commuters to book motorcycle taxis before reaching their destination, while ensuring that riders do not have to pay any commission on bookings. The Chief Minister said joining the app will remain optional for taxi riders.

The app has been developed by Graceful Goa Superapp Pvt. Ltd. in association with the Directorate of Transport to improve last-mile connectivity and help motorcycle taxi riders increase their earnings through digital bookings. The platform aims to expand customer access beyond traditional taxi stands and modernise the state’s motorcycle taxi services. Goa remains one of the few Indian states where motorcycle taxis operate legally.

The state government also announced a 50 per cent subsidy for existing motorcycle taxi riders to purchase electric two-wheelers as part of its push towards sustainable transport. Officials said the initiative is expected to strengthen the livelihoods of riders, whose numbers have declined significantly over the years due to falling earnings and shrinking rural routes.
