Janshakti Janta Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav criticized the Bihar government after Rabri Devi was asked to vacate her official residence

June 4, 2026: Janshakti Janta Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav on Thursday criticized the Bihar government for issuing an eviction notice to former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, asking her to vacate the bungalow at 10 Circular Road in Patna. He argued that if Rabri Devi has been given a 15-day deadline to leave the residence, then similar notices should also be served to former chief ministers such as Nitish Kumar and Jitan Ram Manjhi, who continue to occupy government accommodations. He also questioned why other political leaders, including Upendra Kushwaha, should not face the same rules.

The controversy erupted after the government allotted Rabri Devi’s current residence to Dairy and Fisheries Minister Nand Kishor Ram. Tej Pratap further targeted Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, questioning the need for a large official residence and accusing the government of applying different standards to different leaders. His remarks have added a new political dimension to the ongoing dispute over government housing allocations in Bihar.

The former RJD leader also attacked the state government over the law and order situation, claiming it was in a “coma.” Referring to the recent vandalism at educator Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna, Tej Pratap alleged that the incident exposed the government’s failure to maintain public safety. He said such incidents have become common in the state and demanded accountability from the administration.
