May 3, 2026: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has sought time with President Droupadi Murmu to raise concerns over alleged “targeted action” against former AAP MPs who recently joined the BJP. Sources said the meeting is scheduled for May 5, where Chadha plans to flag what he describes as misuse of state machinery in Punjab for political vendetta.
The development comes after several Rajya Sabha MPs, including Sandeep Pathak and others, switched from the Aam Aadmi Party to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is also set to meet the President the same day, seeking action against the MPs who merged with the BJP.
The political row has intensified following reports of FIRs against some of the leaders, including Pathak, though details remain unclear. BJP leaders have alleged political vendetta, while the AAP has not officially confirmed developments. The situation has added to rising tensions between the two parties ahead of key political developments.
