Thunderstorms with heavy rain and winds up to 60 km/h expected in Delhi-NCR and neighboring regions, says IMD
New Delhi | June 28, 2025:
Heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi on Saturday, offering much-needed relief from the heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 40–60 km/h, for the next few hours across Delhi-NCR.

Areas already affected include IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, Hauz Khas, Mehrauli, and Tughlakabad. Similar conditions are expected to persist through Sunday.

- Jafarpur, Najafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, IGI Airport
- Vasant Kunj, Kalkaji, Chhattarpur, IGNOU, Ayanagar, Deramandi
- Safdarjung, India Gate, Rajiv Chowk, ITO, Patel Nagar, Nehru Stadium
In NCR:
- Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh
In Neighboring States:
- Haryana: Rohtak, Jhajjar, Rewari, Bhiwani, Hisar, Sonipat, Nuh
- Uttar Pradesh: Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Bulandshahr, Firozabad
- Rajasthan: Bharatpur, Alwar, Dholpur, Bhiwadi, Deeg
