Chief Minister asks devotees to avoid speculation and trust the SIT investigation into alleged irregularities in Ram Temple donations.
June 19, 2026: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday appealed to Ram devotees to remain patient while the Special Investigation Team (SIT) examines allegations related to the handling of donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Speaking at an event in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister said the state government constituted the SIT at the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and assured that the investigation would uncover the facts behind the controversy.
Adityanath said the government is committed to a fair and transparent probe and urged people not to spread unverified claims that could hurt the sentiments of devotees. He invited anyone possessing documentary evidence related to the allegations to submit it directly to the SIT. Emphasising patience, the Chief Minister said devotees had waited with dignity and restraint for centuries for the Ram Mandir and should allow the investigation to proceed without speculation.
The SIT was formed on June 13 after concerns were raised over alleged irregularities in temple donations. The panel includes senior administrative, police and finance officials. As part of the ongoing probe, investigators have questioned Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Dr Anil Mishra regarding donation counting procedures and staff appointments. Officials continue to examine records and gather information as the investigation progresses.
