Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said youth-driven innovation can transform governance as the Delhi Next programme
July 3, 2026: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised the creativity and innovation of young participants at the Delhi Next – Code, Create & Change programme, calling it a significant initiative that connects youth-led ideas with governance. Speaking at the civic-tech event, Gupta said the platform has become one of India’s largest innovation programmes focused on solving urban challenges through technology. Officials said the initiative reached over one crore young people nationwide, attracting students, coders, entrepreneurs and innovators.
From the large pool of applicants, the top 60 teams were selected to present practical solutions for issues such as traffic congestion, waterlogging, air pollution, waste management, digital governance and citizen services. The participants showcased technology-driven ideas aimed at improving public services and enhancing the quality of urban life. The Delhi government said several of these solutions would now move towards pilot implementation with support from relevant departments, while selected teams would receive mentorship and institutional assistance.
Addressing the participants, Rekha Gupta said Delhi Next is more than a hackathon and serves as a platform that directly links the aspirations of young innovators with governance. She highlighted the growing role of civic-tech collaborations in improving public administration and delivering faster, data-driven solutions. Thanking all participants, the Chief Minister encouraged them to continue contributing towards building a cleaner, smarter and more efficient “Viksit Delhi.”
