TMC MP Saayoni Ghosh’s speech invoking chants from multiple religions resurfaces online
April 26, 2026: Saayoni Ghosh’s speech promoting religious harmony has gone viral again, as she recited chants from multiple faiths during a rally in Bhabanipur. Calling the area “mini India,” she highlighted how people from different religions coexist peacefully. Ghosh accused the BJP of attempting to divide such communities, while sharing a message of unity across faiths.
During her address, she recited verses from Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh traditions, including chants like “Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu,” “La ilaha illallah,” and the Sikh Mool Mantar. Her speech blended Bangla, Hindi, and Punjabi, symbolising cultural diversity. The constituency, from where Mamata Banerjee is contesting, is set for a high-stakes electoral battle against BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari.
Ghosh has previously faced criticism from BJP leaders over similar remarks during campaigns. Meanwhile, she has also been vocal in Parliament, raising concerns over the functioning of democracy and alleging that opposition voices are being suppressed. Her latest speech has once again drawn attention for its emphasis on pluralism and political messaging.
