Participating in Yoga Day celebrations in Patna, Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary said yoga promotes harmony between body
June 21, 2026: On International Day of Yoga 2026, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary participated in a yoga session at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna’s Kankarbagh area along with BJP and JD(U) leaders. Several state ministers, including Health Minister Nishant Kumar, joined the programme, while senior officials also took part in a separate yoga session organised at Lok Bhavan.
After the event, Choudhary described yoga as an invaluable gift of India’s ancient knowledge tradition that promotes harmony between the body, mind and soul. In a post on social media, he said yoga has gained worldwide recognition under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has inspired people across the globe to embrace a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. He urged citizens to make yoga a part of their daily routine and contribute towards building a healthy and prosperous Bihar.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the national Yoga Day celebrations at Kolkata’s Red Road, where thousands participated in a mass yoga session. Addressing the gathering, Modi highlighted the importance of maintaining balance in work, nutrition and sleep, quoting the Bhagavad Gita. He said yoga teaches the art of balanced living and helps transform good health into a lifelong habit while also contributing to peace and well-being worldwide.
