CBSE-OSM whistleblower Sarthak Sidhant has advised Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke to ensure student activism is rooted in meaningful causes

June 4, 2026: CBSE-OSM whistleblower Sarthak Sidhant has cautioned Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke against allowing student-led movements to become driven solely by internet attention. In an exclusive conversation with HT, the 17-year-old activist said he preferred to stay away from politics but stressed that any campaign launched by students should be based on a genuine public cause. Drawing from his own experience, Sidhant said activism should focus on helping people through research and facts, rather than simply generating social media traction.

Sidhant, along with Vedant Shrivastava and ethical hacker Nisarga Adhikary, emerged as prominent voices questioning the CBSE’s OSM evaluation system after students reported discrepancies in Class 12 results. He argued that while online activism can help spread awareness, it must eventually lead to concrete action. According to him, outrage alone is insufficient if it does not result in efforts that push institutions toward accountability and reform.

The student activist gained national attention after publishing an investigation into the CBSE-OSM tender process on his website. His report alleged that eligibility requirements were modified across multiple tender rounds in a manner that benefited the eventual winning bidder, Hyderabad-based Coempt EduTeck. Both CBSE and the company denied the allegations. Sidhant later appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, where he reportedly presented findings related to the tender process and the selection of the vendor for the OSM system.
