A Patna court has granted interim protection to educator Khan Sir in connection with a firing case linked to his coaching institute
June 9, 2026: A Patna district court on Tuesday stayed the arrest of educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in a case related to a firing incident outside his coaching institute on June 2. His lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mavvar, said the court granted interim protection after examining the facts and legal aspects of the matter, providing immediate relief to the popular teacher.
The court’s decision was welcomed by students, many of whom expressed confidence in the judiciary and described the order as positive news for the student community. Several students appealed for an end to the ongoing tensions between Khan Sir and Gyan Bindu GS Academy, urging both sides to resolve differences peacefully and avoid actions that could affect education or reputations.
The case stems from an FIR registered at Kadamkuan Police Station under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. The complaint is linked to a firing incident outside the coaching centre in which a security guard was injured. Police had earlier arrested two guards allegedly seen firing in a viral video. Following the hearing, the court stayed Khan Sir’s arrest while further proceedings in the case continue.
