The VHP has urged Ayodhya Police to question Arvind Kejriwal, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
July 5, 2026: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has requested the Ayodhya Police to summon AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other Opposition leaders over their statements on the alleged Ram Janmabhoomi temple donation embezzlement case. In a letter addressed to the investigating officer, VHP International President Alok Kumar asked police to record their statements and seek the facts, sources and documents supporting their allegations. The VHP argued that the leaders’ public remarks indicate they may possess information relevant to the ongoing investigation.
According to the VHP, Kejriwal alleged that cash, jewellery and other valuables worth crores were stolen from the Ram Temple and questioned the silence of investigative agencies. The letter also referred to Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav’s claim of a ₹20,000-crore scam and AAP MP Sanjay Singh’s allegation that over ₹200 crore was stolen from temple donation boxes. It further cited Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s remarks questioning whether junior employees alone could have carried out the alleged theft or if influential individuals were also involved.
The VHP urged investigators to verify these claims and, if supported by evidence, use them to strengthen the probe. However, it also sought legal action against those making allegations if they were found to be baseless and intended to spread misinformation or create hostility. Meanwhile, amid the ongoing controversy, the VHP has shifted its Central Management Committee meeting from Ayodhya to New Delhi, while uncertainty continues over the participation of former Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai, who resigned from the Trust during the controversy.
