A political controversy has erupted after Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana commented on allegations of donation theft linked to the Ram Temple. Mahana said that those whose money was allegedly stolen may not have donated with "true faith," while asserting that his own contribution had been properly used and that the construction of the grand temple was evidence of it.
Amid the ongoing investigation into the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Treasurer Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj has said the suspected embezzlement is estimated to be around ₹3 crore, rejecting reports that valuables worth ₹14 crore were stolen.
