The ongoing investigation into the murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal has taken a significant turn following the recovery of deleted digital data from the mobile phone of the prime accused, Siya Goyal. Pune Police are meticulously analyzing the retrieved messages, which include cryptic conversations that investigators suspect point to a broader conspiracy.

Cryptic Snapchat Messages Under Scrutiny

Among the most notable recoveries is a Snapchat exchange between Siya Goyal and a friend, where Goyal urgently requests personal identification documents under what appears to be a false pretense.

The recovered message reportedly reads:

“Adhar card front back bhejde. For wedding tickets jo hone nai wali parr fir bhi bhej de.”

Translation: “Send me photos of the front and back of your Aadhaar card. It’s for booking wedding tickets for a wedding that was never going to happen, but send it anyway.”

The friend responded noting that the document had been forwarded via WhatsApp. Forensic teams and investigators are trying to establish the exact timeline of this conversation to determine if the documentation was sought to facilitate logistics, travel, or evasion tactics before or after the crime.

Coded Language and Multi-Agency Probe

The Pune Police previously informed the court that a second mobile device, which Goyal had allegedly attempted to conceal, was successfully recovered. Data extraction from the seized devices has revealed an extensive use of coded language, nicknames, and specific emoji patterns.

Investigators are aggressively pursuing lines of inquiry regarding the involvement of outside accomplices:

  • Beed Connection: Authorities have picked up and questioned a youth from the Beed district. Evidence suggests Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary may have shared specific details of their murder plot with him. The youth claimed to investigators that he did not participate and had actively advised the duo against executing the plan.
  • Judicial Custody: Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have been remanded to 14-day judicial custody after formally refusing to undergo a polygraph test.

The forensic evaluation of the newly recovered second phone remains underway as police map out the digital trail leading up to the incident at Lohagad Fort.
