DPS Vasant Kunj student Devina Gahlot credits discipline, regular revision, and consistent preparation for securing the top rank in CUET-UG 2026.
June 24, 2026: Devina Gahlot, daughter of BJP MLA and former Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot, has emerged as the national topper in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG 2026. A student of DPS Vasant Kunj, Devina had already impressed with her academic performance by scoring 98 per cent in the CBSE Class 12 Humanities stream examinations. She admitted that she was surprised by her achievement and initially struggled to believe she had secured the top rank in the country.
Speaking about her preparation strategy, Devina said she focused on consistency rather than studying for long hours. She revised regularly, studied all subjects daily, and solved previous years’ question papers. While preparing for CUET after her board exams, she faced uncertainty about the exam pattern and preparation process but overcame those challenges with support from her family, teachers, and school. She credited their encouragement for helping her stay focused throughout the journey.
Looking ahead, Devina plans to pursue English Honours, driven by her passion for literature, reading, and writing. She is also considering a future in journalism. At the same time, she has not ruled out entering public life, saying that watching her father serve as an MLA and minister inspired her interest in politics and public service. Her father, Kailash Gahlot, expressed pride in her achievement and praised her dedication and hard work.
