Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a commanding performance to defeat Delhi Capitals (DC) by nine wickets in their IPL 2026 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday.
A stunning bowling display from Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismantled the Delhi batting order, restricting them to just 75 runs — one of the lowest totals in IPL history. RCB then chased down the modest target in only 6.3 overs to register their sixth win in eight matches.
With the victory, RCB moved to 12 points and climbed to second place on the points table, while DC suffered their fifth defeat and remained seventh.
Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Trigger Early Collapse
After winning the toss and opting to bowl, RCB struck immediately. Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed debutant Sahil Parakh for a duck, setting the tone for a disastrous start for DC.
Josh Hazlewood followed up with a devastating spell, dismissing KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi in quick succession. The pressure continued to mount as Tristan Stubbs and skipper Axar Patel fell cheaply.

Porel and Miller Offer Brief Resistance
Amid the collapse, Abishek Porel showed resilience with a fighting knock of 30 off 33 balls. He received limited support from David Miller, who contributed 19 runs, and Kyle Jamieson, who added 12 runs.
Their efforts helped Delhi avoid the embarrassment of registering the lowest-ever IPL total — a record still held by RCB’s 49 against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017.
However, DC were eventually bowled out for 75 in 16.3 overs, making it one of the lowest totals recorded in IPL history.
RCB Batters Finish Chase in Record Time
Chasing just 76 runs, RCB’s batters wasted little time.
Jacob Bethell provided early momentum with a quick 20 off 10 balls before being dismissed by T Natarajan off Kyle Jamieson’s bowling.
The match quickly slipped further away from Delhi as Devdutt Padikkal unleashed an aggressive innings, smashing 34 not out off just 13 balls, including three fours and three sixes.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli played a steady yet impactful knock of 25 not out off 13 balls. Kohli sealed the victory with two consecutive sixes, bringing up another personal milestone — 9,000 IPL runs.
RCB reached 77/1 in just 6.3 overs, completing one of the fastest chases of the season.
