Raghav Chadha has been appointed as the new chairman of the Committee on Petitions of the Rajya Sabha after the parliamentary panel was reconstituted. The appointment was announced through a notification issued by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, and C. P. Radhakrishnan, Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, on Monday rejected separate notices submitted by opposition parties seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar from his post.
