The death toll in the Taratala warehouse collapse in south Kolkata has risen to 15 after two more bodies were recovered from the debris and two injured workers died during treatment. Rescue teams, including personnel from the Army, NDRF, Kolkata Police and the state disaster management group, continued search operations on Friday, two days after the warehouse roof collapsed.
A major construction accident occurred in Kolkata's Taratala area after the roof of an under-construction warehouse collapsed on Transport Road, trapping multiple workers beneath the rubble. Authorities believe that around 50 to 60 labourers may have been present at the site when the structure suddenly gave way during routine construction work.
