Latvia: The Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Centre reports that skies will turn cloudy from the south today. By the afternoon, rain will spread across nearly the entire nation. Some areas should prepare for heavy downpours and possible thunderstorms. Meanwhile, a light to moderate wind will blow from the north and northeast. Please stay alert, as these winds may become quite gusty during any storms.

Temperatures and Thursday Outlook

Nighttime temperatures will stay between +2°C and +8°C across most regions. However, parts of Vidzeme may see frost between 0°C and -1°C heading into Thursday. Daytime temperatures will generally reach +9°C to +16°C throughout the day. On Thursday, Vidzeme will remain a few degrees cooler than other parts of the country. Fortunately, the rain will gradually fade away as the day progresses on Thursday.

Sunny Relief for the Weekend

By the end of the week, an anticyclone will move in to strengthen its influence over Latvia. Consequently, the skies will clear up significantly, and we expect no precipitation. A gentle northerly wind will continue to blow during this period. Nighttime lows will remain between +3°C and +8°C. During the day, temperatures will climb to +9°C and +16°C, though some spots might reach +18°C.
