Content creator and actress Kusha Kapila has broken her silence on the renewed controversy surrounding comedian Samay Raina, revealing that she needed therapy to overcome the shame she experienced after the controversial 2024 roast. The actress also dismissed viral claims suggesting that she had asked Samay to invite her to India’s Got Latent, calling out meme pages for spreading misinformation.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kusha slammed social media accounts for circulating what she described as false narratives and AI-generated content. Reacting to the claims, she wrote, “Kitni seeding karogey, meme accounts? Ruk jao,” while questioning whether she would have to reveal the offensive jokes publicly to justify why she was so hurt by the incident.

The controversy dates back to December 2024, when Samay Raina appeared as a panelist on the Pretty Good Roast Show, hosted by comedian Ashish Solanki. During the episode, several jokes were made at Kusha Kapila’s expense, including remarks about her personal life, divorce from Zorawar Ahluwalia, and even her pet dog. The roast later sparked criticism from viewers after clips circulated widely online.

Recalling the experience, Kusha said she had joined the roast in good faith because she considered the comedians her friends. She clarified that no script, contract, or list of jokes had been shared with her beforehand, leaving her completely unaware of what was coming. Calling it a “rookie mistake,” she said she never expected the jokes to become so personal and hurtful.

Kusha reiterated that she still believes the jokes should have been censored. She revealed that she blocked both Samay Raina and Ashish Solanki after the show and admitted that it took considerable time, along with therapy, to heal from the humiliation she felt. “It has taken me a lot of time and therapy to undo the shame and ridicule I felt that day. I genuinely wish that roast had never happened to me,” she wrote.

Addressing speculation about her relationship with Samay Raina, Kusha clarified that they are no longer friends. She firmly stated that she has no intention of appearing on India’s Got Latent, writing, “I am not friends with Samay. I will never be on Latent. We have tried to be cordial and move past what happened, but that’s all. We have decided not to speak about each other on the internet.”

Kusha also addressed a recent viral clip from singer Jasleen Royal’s birthday celebration, explaining that she attended the party because she was invited by Jasleen and that Samay Raina’s presence there was merely coincidental. Her clarification comes amid continued speculation on social media regarding their equation following the roast controversy.
