Television actress Shilpa Shinde has opened up about her views on feminism, empowerment, and modern womanhood, stating that confidence, self-awareness, and values matter more than external appearances or lifestyle choices. The actress recently shared her thoughts during an interaction, where she described herself as “a little orthodox” when it comes to certain personal beliefs.

Speaking candidly, Shilpa revealed that she is uncomfortable seeing women smoke and clarified that it is her personal opinion. According to the actress, smoking should not be viewed as a symbol of modernity or empowerment. She emphasized that true boldness is not defined by habits such as smoking or drinking, nor by the clothes a person chooses to wear.

Shilpa further explained that many people often confuse external appearances with confidence and independence. She said that wearing revealing outfits or adopting certain lifestyle choices does not automatically make someone bold or empowered. Instead, she believes that genuine confidence comes from understanding one’s identity, values, and self-worth.

During the conversation, actress Pervein Dastur also highlighted how appearances can be misleading, noting that women from different backgrounds and dressing styles may engage in similar habits. Responding to the observation, Shilpa reiterated that clothing and mindset should not be linked together. She added that while she personally admires women wearing sarees, her views are not about fashion choices but about self-awareness and values.

The actress stressed that a woman’s character and mindset cannot be judged by her attire. Whether someone chooses traditional clothing or modern fashion, it does not determine their beliefs, intelligence, or confidence. According to Shilpa, empowerment lies in being comfortable with oneself rather than seeking validation through appearances.

Sharing her perspective on feminism, Shilpa stated that real empowerment comes from carrying one’s values with confidence and understanding personal identity. She believes feminism should focus on self-respect, independence, and inner strength rather than being associated with outward expressions that are often mistaken for boldness.

On the professional front, Shilpa Shinde was last seen in the series Margao Files, where her performance received positive feedback from audiences. The actress continues to remain in the spotlight for both her acting projects and her outspoken views on social and cultural issues.
