Reducing salt intake is another crucial step. A low-salt diet helps control blood pressure, reduces strain on kidney filters, and slows the progression of kidney disease. Experts recommend limiting processed foods, packaged snacks, and high-sodium condiments while opting for home-cooked meals.
Avoiding smoking is equally important, as nicotine can damage kidney filters, reduce blood flow, and increase the risk of kidney-related complications, including cancer.
