Alia Bhatt is officially stepping into the eerie, dark universe of Tumbbad 2. For the film’s official announcement alongside actor-producer Sohum Shah, the actress opted out of theatrical horror tropes or dramatic gothic gowns, choosing instead a sleek, all-black ensemble that perfectly mirrored the moody atmosphere of the upcoming sequel.

Styled by celebrity stylist Priyanka Kapadia, Bhatt turned heads in a deceptively minimalist outfit that combined high fashion with utilitarian street style. She paired a fitted, low-neckline ‘Stanfield’ black top by Michael Lauren (valued at $88) with oversized black wide-leg cargo pants from CILVR Studio, priced at ₹8,450.
The brilliance of the outfit lay in its proportions. The snug silhouette of the top balanced out the exaggerated volume and zipper details of the cargo trousers, creating an uninterrupted, elongated frame. To keep the focus strictly on the shapes and textures, Bhatt skipped statement jewelry and finished the look with matching black footwear that blended seamlessly into her pants. Proving that monochrome doesn’t need heavy prints or embellishments to stand out, the actress gave a masterclass in modern, relaxed, and polished gothic dressing.
